The 2022 Ford Ranger is a mid-size pickup truck. Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2022 Ford Ranger offers three trim levels. You can customize each one. The three levels are the Ranger XL, the Ranger XLT, and the Ranger LARIAT. The base model, Ranger XL, comes with all the standard Ranger features, alongside customization options for the interior and exterior. The top-tire trim, the Ranger LARIAT, combines the truck's standard features with various upgrades to aesthetics and mechanical performance, like adaptive cruise control and a forward-sensing system.
Engine (Power)
All three models of the 2022 Ranger come equipped with a 2.3-liter, V-6 eco-boost engine with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The engine provides an impressive 270 horsepower and around 310 pound-feet of torque for hauling other vehicles. Each model has a maximum tow capacity of around 7,500 pounds when properly configured.
Performance
Ford built the 2022 Ranger for maximum performance, including a lean V-6 engine and plenty of towing power. The Ranger also offers drivers a 4x4 option for extra handling and includes independent front and rear suspension for a smooth ride. Four-wheel disc brakes provide maximum stopping power even under a full towing load, and electric powered rack-and-pinion steering gives the Ranger great handling on many terrains. The LARIAT model also includes four-channel anti-locking brakes and electronic stability control. The standard vehicle has an 18-gallon fuel tank with 21 miles per hour in the city and 26 on the highway.
Interior
The interior features plenty of sitting room for passengers, with 39.8 inches of headroom in the front and 35.9 inches in the back. Seats also feature plenty of legroom for maximum comfort. Ford owners also have access to FordPass Connect, a built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot for all of your in-vehicle devices. The vehicle has manual climate control for a comfortable drive and dual-zone automatic temperature control for syncing internal conditions with external weather patterns. The 3.5-inch center screen is accessible and allows connectivity for any Bluetooth devices with SYNC. A locking glove box also secures your valuables.
Safety Features
The Ranger comes with plenty of safety features to make it a reliable vehicle. It has dual front air bags for maximum protection and a pre-collision assist system with automatic emergency braking. Bluetooth connectivity allows for touchless interactions with phones and other devices while driving. Power locks and Ford MyKey technology provide maximum protection against unauthorized entry, while a rearview camera provides additional help with parking and reversing. The vehicle also has child seat tether anchors, anti-lock brakes, and child-proof door locks.
The 2022 Ranger also offers a three-point manual lap and shoulder belt with height adjusters for maximum safety and comfort while the vehicle is in motion. Additional options include remote keyless entry and perimeter anti-theft alarm.
